The journey begins today. A journey full of measurements, fabrics, fittings, and months and months of complicity and work before the day of the wedding ceremony. For the bride who chooses Verónica Gutgar, the meetings will offer her tranquillity and quality. For the Fashion designer, every moment together in her studio have one goal: to find beauty in the bride’s soul, and convey it in her dress.

“Tell me a little about you, and then I will tell you about me and my work.”

This journey begins when the two women meet. In her studio, Verónica greets her bride and her family with open arms. During this first meeting, the two women will get to know each other in the comfortable atmosphere of the Alicante studio. For Verónica, building a strong relationship from the start helps to resolve doubts along the way.

Under the kind eyes of her family, the bride shares her motivations and her hobbies.

Verónica listens carefully. Before even discussing technical details, she wants to understand who the bride is, deep down. Thanks to her profesional and caring look, she will convey the bride’s femininity in her sketches, and later, in a wedding dress.

Verónica does not wish to dress a mannequin, but rather a strong and balanced personality. During the hours they spend together for this first meeting, she always makes sure that the bride feels completely understood, and that her wishes are respected until the piece is handed over.

In order to do so, Verónica sketches her first impressions of the bride before the second appointment. Through cuts, colours, materials, and textures, she conveys her understanding of the bride’s Essence into three unique sketches.

Thanks to her knowledge of pattern design and body anatomy that she gets from dance and gymnastics, Verónica ensures that each piece is custom made with the perfect materials, to follow the bride’s movements and enhance her natural beauty, exactly like a second skin. Verónica loves being challenged to find the perfect combination between the bride’s vital identity and materials not worked with yet.

In a week, the bride will meet Verónica again in her studio, to get a glimpse of her collection of fabrics and take measurements.

The designer’s deep understanding of the bride’s Essence guides her into choosing diverse and quality fabric that she knows will fit her, from cotton to wool, by way of linen, light silk, passementerie with ancient crystals, or even embroidered pearls that she gets from India, a familiar country to her as she lived there.

During this meeting, they usually chose between one or two sketches: one of them, as it was drawn by Verónica, and a second one altered by their suggestions during this meeting. Now that Verónica has the final design chosen, its realization is in her hands. She will work to incorporate the architecture of a pattern into designs of movements and flows of inspiration.

Verónica believes in the transformative power of art, in which each piece works to reveal our aesthetic and emotional identity, just by looking at it, wearing it, and seeing how natural it feels.

“I want to know how you are feeling.”

During fittings, in front of the large wooden mirror in Verónica’s studio, the bride gets to discover the dress that was thought and made for her.

When the curtains open, revealing the bride to her family, the studio fills with excitement, pride, and love. Her dress finally takes shape on her body, highlighting Verónica’s vision of the bride.

Verónica finds her greatest fulfillment through these encounters, and the challenges that may appear but that they always manage to overcome together, and, of course, the joy of the women she dresses.
